A studio that grew from one polisher and a stubborn standard.
Joltwave started in a single-bay lock-up in 2017. Eight years on we still close at six on Saturday to walk every car under daylight bulbs before the keys go back. Some things don't scale — and we have no plans to make them.
Origin
One polisher, one Civic, one promise to never rush.
Founder Ridwan Yusof spent six years detailing supercars in Singapore before opening Joltwave's first bay on Jalan Industri Bayan Baru. The opening car — a black Civic Type R belonging to a friend — set a habit we still keep: never let a car leave the bay without one full walk-around under cold daylight bulbs.
The studio expanded into the current four-bay layout in 2021 with the addition of a climate-controlled coating room and a dedicated interior bay with steam extraction. Two new senior detailers joined the team in 2024 and bring close to twenty years of paint experience between them.
How the bay is set up
Built around finish, not throughput.
The studio runs four bays — wash, polish, interior and coating — each laid out so a single detailer can complete their stage without crossing paths with another booking. We deliberately cap the day at five cars.
- Bay 01 · WashHeated water, two-bucket stations, dedicated mitts retired after 100 uses, citrus pre-soak.
- Bay 02 · PolishRUPES BigFoot polishers, paint-thickness gauges, daylight-balanced LED bars overhead.
- Bay 03 · InteriorSteam extractor, HEPA vacuums, enzyme treatments, dedicated leather conditioning bench.
- Bay 04 · CoatingClimate-controlled at 23 °C / 55% RH, sealed against dust ingress, daylight inspection.
The team
Four detailers, all named and all on-site.
Joltwave does not subcontract. Every detailer on the books is on payroll, finished a 12-month apprenticeship before working on customer cars unsupervised, and signs off the photos that leave the studio.
